Don was born in Berkeley and raised in Santa Clara. He attended Santa Clara High, where under the guidance of Vernon Broadbent, he learned the craft of woodworking/carpentry-his lifelong vocation. Following high school, Don proudly served in the Navy on the USS Rebel, a mine sweeper, during WWII.

Upon his return, he met and married Patricia McCutchan his loving wife of 71 years. Don enjoyed a distinguished 40 year career as a superintendent for the E.A. Hathaway Construction Company. His retirement was spent building furniture and woodcarving in his extensive workshop.

Don is survived by his wife Patricia Tower, daughter Marilyn Miller, son John Tower (Christine), grandsons Andrew (Amanda) and Christopher (Margie), and great-granddaughter Calliope, and his brother Clarence.

Don is predeceased by his parents Stanley and Corrine Tower, his brother Erwin, sister Wanda and son-in-law H. Alan Miller.

Services are Friday January 5th at 1:00 pm preceded by viewing at 12:00 pm at the Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary 466 N Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050
