Donald W. Guptill, of Old Saybrook, died on July 20, 2016 in Middletown.

He was born on July 18, 1950, in Middletown, the son of Page Guptill, II, and Kathleen Griffin Guptill.

Donald was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving two tours as a Corporal with the United States Marines. He was a member of the Elks and former charter member of the Essex Corinthian Yacht Club. Don was a prominent builder for the shoreline area for over 40 years. He loved his family first, and enjoyed boating, hunting, and his dogs.

Donald is survived by his wife Kristen; daughter Courtney Guptill, of Old Saybrook; son Page Guptill, III, and his wife Rebecca of Clinton; grandchildren Madison, Colby, Page, IV; aunt Dorothy Guptill; brother-in-law William Fitch; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Kerry Kosky, and his uncle Carlton Guptill.
