Donna Margaret Hoban passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on November 17, 1943 in Medford, Massachusetts to Anthony and Yolanda Pepi. In l947 her family, along with a large contingency of Italian relatives moved west to San Diego, California. Donna attended Crawford High School and enjoyed long lasting friendships with her classmates from the graduating class of l961.

On July 10, 1965, Donna married Richard Hoban. Together, they raised 2 children, a daughter, Christina Marie, and son, Richard (Rick) Anthony. In addition to dedicating her life to motherhood, Donna was an avid tennis player, playing in both singles and doubles competitive leagues. She also developed an interest in health and fitness and became a certified personal trainer in l996. Donna enjoyed training clients at Fitness Elite for Women and Laguna Niguel Racquet Club in south Orange County, where she coached and inspired many to reach their fitness goals.

Donna was a devout follower of Christ and was involved in women's ministries for many years. She also served as a member of the Volunteer Ministry at Mission Hospital of Orange County as prayer counselor.

Donna loved Italian cooking and her famous, family recipes for marinara sauce, lasagna, meatballs and cannoli were highly anticipated for holiday meals. She took pride in celebrating her cooking skills each Sunday with her children and grandchildren preparing traditional Italian faire.

Donna is survived by her husband, Richard Hoban, 2 children, Christina Johnson, and Rick Hoban, son-in-law, Mark Johnson, 3 grandchildren, Hayley Johnson, Kristian Johnson, and Whitney Johnson, and 2 brothers, Anthony Pepi Jr, and Frank Pepi.
