Ridgeway – Doreen L. Nichols, age 76, of Ridgeway, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at University Hospital in Madison.

Doreen was born on September 28, 1940 in Dodgeville, the daughter of Bernette and Delores (Olson) Davis. She graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1958. On October 11, 1958, she married Harold "Possum" Nichols at Barneveld Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2016.

She tried to take care of everybody and put everybody else's feelings before her own. She loved her family dearly and the people of Ridgeway. She worked for many years at Davis Market in Ridgeway and then as Ridgeway Village Clerk. She was a member of Barneveld Lutheran Church and the Barneveld / Ridgeway Senior group that went on many daytrips.

Doreen is survived by her mother Delores Davis; her children Perry Nichols and Ruth Nevins both of Ridgeway, Jane (Roger) Pfieffer of New Orleans and Joshua Nichols of Colorado; her grandchildren Charlie (Jessica) Nichols, Nate (Robin) Nichols, Amanda (John) Deckert Reeson, Will (Kristal) Deckert, Betsy (Ernest) Davis and Harold Foust; her great grandchildren Jonathon, Rosie, Owen, Evan, Iean, Sophia, Natalie, Emmett and Miracia; her brothers Dennis (Judy) Davis and Greg (Margaret) Davis; her sister-in-law Mary Kay Davis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, her brother Eric Davis, her son-in-law Jack Nevins and her nephew Lance Davis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at BARNEVELD LUTHERAN CHURCH. Rev. Jim Hearne will officiate. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Friday at BARNEVELD LUTHERAN CHURCH.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family appreciated.
