Doris Christine Boone Rayburn, 91 years young, died of vascular dementia on Monday, December 5, 2016 in Norman, Oklahoma. Doris is survived by her daughter, Margaret Ann Linnemann of Norman; granddaughter Amy Linnemann of Norman; her only great grandchild, Jakob and her sister Joyce Burden of Burnet, Texas and several nieces and nephews all around the United States.

Doris was born on October 3, 1925, as a fraternal twin, to parents Lillian and Forrest Boone. She graduated from high school in 1943 from Crocket High School in Texas. She was a stay at home mother to Margaret, their only child until they settled in Oklahoma. Then she became Vice President of Community Bank and auditor until she retired at 65 years of age, in 1990.

Doris was married to Rufus E. Rayburn in 1944 and the couple had one child together, Margaret Ann in 1946. They had been married 61 years when Rufus passed in 2005.

Doris was a social and very active woman who was deeply involved in Lakeside United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, for many years. She and Rufus traveled the world after retirement. They were active bowlers and she loved playing bridge. She was also a very avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters and her only grandchildren, Amy and Jay who called her "Mimi".

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rufus, her twin brother Morris and her sister, Marion. She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Jay.

A service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, December 9th at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel with interment following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
