DORIS E. (nee Glaesel) HOLZACH, 86, of Little Falls died Tuesday. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ, Ms. Holzach grew up in Clifton, NJ on a large farm and estate. Her father was I the embroidery business and travelled all over the world with Doris accompanying him on many of those trips. On a trip to Switzerland, she met her husband, Armin, and they had one son, Paul. She lived in Switzerland for about four years before returning to the United States in 1966 when she loved to Little Falls. She had been employed previously by the Bankers Life Insurance Company and also as a dental assistant for Dr. Stein in Clifton and Dr. Spiesman in Little Falls. Most of all she was a homemaker for many years and also caregiver for her mom, Elizabeth Glaesel. Doris has four grandchildren, Megan, Paul, Christina and Erik. They were truly her greatest love. She spent many afternoons walking with them and teaching them about the outdoors and exploring all the local wooded areas. The walking trips were also accompanied by her German Shepherd, Nixie. She was an animal lover her entire life. Doris was also a fantastic cook and baker. On many Sundays, she would cook specialties that we still have a hard time duplicating, especially the German Christmas Stollen. Ms. Holzach had been a member of Montclair Heights Reformed Church in Upper Montclair. She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Pityo. Survivors include: her son, Paul E. Holzach and his wife, Marianne and their four children. Private Funeral Services were arranged through Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, Little Falls. Memorial Contributions to Eagle Rescue Squad, PO Box 203, Little Falls, NJ 07424 or Save the Animals Rescue Team (START), PO Box 1098, Little Falls, NJ 07424 would be appreciated.
