Doris Lee (Kerr) Bucy passed away quietly at her home Saturday,February 3,2018. She was born August 26,1929 in the farm community of Luray,Missouri,to Charles and Glennis (Somerville) Kerr. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. degree in 1951. While at Mizzou, She met her future husband Robert Glenn Bucy,a WWII vet attending on the G.I. Bill. They were married October 20,1951,until his death January 1999. After moving from Chicago to Dallas in 1959,they joined White Rock Methodist Church,where she was an active member the rest of her life. Trained as a dietician,she was also a very talented seamstress for many years. She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed Rangers and Cowboys games,but had a real fondness for Olympic sports. She also enjoyed gardening,reading,and puzzles.
Doris is preceded in death by her brother,Leslie Kerr; husband,Robert G. Bucy; brother Charles "Chuck" Kerr; and sister, Glennis Ruth (Kerr) Fritz. She is survived by her children,Douglas and Kim Bucy of Sherman,Tx; Kevin Bucy of Dallas,Tx; Diane and Kendall Wallace of Los Angeles,Ca.;and grandson,Aaron and Lisett Bucy of Sherman,Tx. She will be interred with her husband at DFW National Cemetery.
