Washburn, Dorothy A. (Dot) Hillhouse 81

of Clearwater, Florida stepped across the Great Divide June 30th, 2017 into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ . Also waiting to greet her were her son Jeffrey B. Thomas, parents Ralph and Mary Hillhouse, and brother Howard L. Hillhouse. A First Corinthians - Chapter 13 loving mother, she leaves behind 2 daughters; Wendy M. Washburn of Clearwater, FL and Tammy S. Hageman of Fairfield, ME; 3 sons; Johnny D. Thomas (Terri) of Arnold MD, Kenneth W. Thomas of Tampa FL, Warren S. Thomas (Zelda) of Orange Park, FL and Sister-In-law Jeslyn Hillhouse of Clearwater FL, 1 sister Janice E. Morrison of Clearwater, FL, 2 brothers; Donald E. Hillhouse of Palm Harbor, FL and Steven W. Hillhouse of Clearwater FL, 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and a multitude of cherished nieces and nephews.

Born August 16, 1935 in Clearwater, Florida she graduated from Clearwater Senior High School, Class of 1952. She went on to spend the vast majority of her life as a homemaker and loving mother to her children. A Spirit Filled Christian, she had a love for the people in her life that can only be called a Gift of God that is only given to the pure of heart. She went on to Heaven with a send off by family members.

The family of Dorothy wish to thank Jeslyn Hillhouse and Tammy Hageman for their devoted care of our loved one during her final days. The 24/7 love and care is beyond words, taking care of every little detail and smothering her in love.

The family would also like to thank Suncoast Hospice for outstanding service and professionalism. Hospice filled every need and the care provided by their nursing staff during the final year of Dorothy’s life was beyond just simply thanking.

The family would very, very much like to thank our adopted sister, Leana Hall, a humble Hospice worker who cared for our mom’s personal needs. She was a total stranger who showed love, devotion and tenderness… and won the families love for her forever! What an example for other Hospice workers and Christians as well. Thank you Leana!

Dot’s viewing, followed by a graveside service, will be held at the Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home at 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759 on Thursday, July 6th, at 10 a.m.
