Dorothy Ann Taylor of Nitro passed away Friday, April 7th, 2017 at the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Harry B. Davis and Helen Davis, also preceding her in death were three precious little Portz angels and son-in-law Richard Walker.

Dorothy is survived by her devoted and loving husband of almost 62 years, James R. Taylor; children, Cheryl (Danny) Gillispie, Angela (Rowdy) Moran, and James M. (Rebecca) Taylor; grandchildren, Missy (Matt) Portz, Josh (Toni) Walker, Bryce and Kelsie Taylor, Alex Moran, Alyssa (Eddie) Mahalick, Janel (John) Harrison, Dana (Devan) Gillispie, and Rochelle (Davie) Hall; great-grandchildren, Sydney Walker, Tristen Portz, along with 14 other great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Connie Naylor and Faye Smith; brother, James T. (Faye) Davis; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Bancroft. We would like to express our appreciation to Pastor Jeff Arthur and the church family for the love and kindness shown to our mother. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to mom’s caregivers, Charlotte, Meagan, Wendy, Dreama and Kirsten, and special friend Brenda Griggs for the care and love given to mom. A special thank you to Dr. Michael Robie and Jennifer Nunley for their compassion and care.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 13th, 2017 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Rd., Cross Lanes, WV 25313. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM until service time. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. On line condolences may be made by visiting
