Dorothy "Dot" Helen Easterly, 82, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, just one day shy of her 83rd birthday. Born in Peoria, IL, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen Burdick. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fort Wayne. She was employed with New Haven Public Schools as a teacher for ten years. She was also a member of the New Haven Women's Club and the American Association of University Women. Dot loved the arts, with painting and photography being her favorites. She was a great role model as a wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William; son, Ray (Heidi) Easterly of Leo; and granddaughter, Gabrielle Easterly of Leo. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Burdick; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Burdick.

Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling two hours prior to service. The Reverends Jeff and Arianne Lehn officiating. Burial in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice or Dr. Stanley Wissman Stroke Center.
