Dorothy E. Pahura, 89, of Medina, NY and beloved wife of the late Raymond C. Pahura, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.
Born on Feb. 27, 1922 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Jane (Kuhl) Nellist.
Dottie grew up in South Buffalo and graduated from South Park High School in 1940. In June of 1941, she married Raymond "Monte" Pahura in Buffalo. In 1942, they moved to Medina and have resided here ever since.

She worked as a secretary in her husbands Real Estate and Insurance Office at 510 Main St. Medina. She then went to work as Administrative Assistant at the Farm Credit Bank in Albion, NY. She retired from the bank in 1986 after more than 18 years. She always enjoyed dealing with the public.
Survivors include her daughter Darlene Cooper of Bayonet Point, FL and a daughter-in-law Debra Pahura of Bonner Springs, KS. She is survived five grandchildren: Michele (Donald) Williams, Christie (Robert) Jensen, Sara Beth Cooper, Robert "RJ" Pahura and Michael J. Pahura.
Eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Raymond, a son Robert and a son-in-law Philip Cooper. Also, her siblings: Janice Barron, Gloria Hill, Richard and Kenneth Nellist.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post # 1483, Member of the Medina Moose Club #503, Hospice of Orleans Co. Senior Citizens of Western Orleans, and South Park High School Alumni Assoc. Also, volunteered as a "Gray Lady" at the hospital and was a former member of the South Park United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed and cherished her many friends and meetings for coffee with the "girls" and the little shopping trips, she became quite a traveler. She will be missed.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM
