DOROTHY ELIZABETH "DOT" SUMMERVILLE COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA Dorothy Elizabeth "Dot" Summerville was born on August 27, 1922 in Wesson, Arkansas to the late Vara Annis Peace Givens and Charles Louis Givens. She passed away January 5, 2018 at Lagniappe Healthcare in Bastrop, Louisiana. Mrs. Summerville was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bastrop and a retired real estate agent. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Max Summerville and Horace Haley, a son Dan Adrian Summerville, and her sister Geraldine Givens Pyle Evans. Mrs. Summerville is survived by her son Max Summerville and his wife Cherie, daughter-in-law Marilyn Summerville, all of New Orleans, Louisiana, her brother, C.L. Givens of Bastrop, Louisiana, four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family. Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Dorothy Summerville will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2018 in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Larry James serving as the celebrant. Burial will follow at Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
