Dorothy Helen Richardson was born March 6, 1923 to Earl and Eva (Sowders) Norman, the oldest of three daughters and sister to eight brothers. She learned early the importance of faith and family, working alongside her siblings on the Heltonville farm. After graduating from Heltonville High School, Helen worked at RCA for nearly 40 years. She married H. Franklin Richardson on June 29, 1946, and shared 60 years together until his passing on December 15, 2006. They were blessed with twins, Gary and Mary, and raised them in their Unionville home. Once retired, Helen and Franklin wintered with family in Arizona and Florida in their travel trailer. Helen was a member of the Little Union Baptist Church for nearly 70 years, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and serving in the American Baptist Women and several church offices through the years. She was also an active quilter for many years. Another interest was euchre, in which she won far more often than losing. She loved her Lord and her family, as she was also a longtime member of the Gideons Auxiliary and active in the Unionville Senior Center.

Helen passed from this life on December 4, 2016, at Hearthstone Health Campus, in the presence of her daughter, two sisters, and son-in-law, attended by a compassionate team of caregivers. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Gary, six brothers (Roy, Harold, Dale, Millard [Junior], Robert, and Paul; and one great-grandson, Matthew Frazo. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Frazo (Ernie), daughter-in-law Janna Rydell (Allan), two grandsons, Stephen Frazo (Tina Booe) and Nicholas Richardson (Chrissy), and one granddaughter, Christina Thick (Zac). Surviving siblings include brothers Keith Norman (Joyce) and Larry (Brenda) and sisters Joan Bailey and Colleen Perry. Her surviving great-grandchildren include Parker, Hudson, and Sophia Frazo, twin sisters Ivy and Zya Thick, and Garrick Richardson. Helen is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
