Funeral services for Dorothy Inez Woodard were held 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the First Apostolic Church, Bastrop, LA with Rev. J.T. Wheat officiating. Interment was in the Carter Cemetery, Collinston, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.
Mrs. Dorothy was born October 5, 1923 in Wildsville, LA and passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 in Bastrop, LA.
The most precious Mother in the World, a true prayer warrior. She had a quiet loving spirit and she loved her family, fishing, and vegetable gardening. She loved her God and her church family; and she had a special love for her pastor, J.T. Wheat and sister Wheat. Mrs. Dorothy was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Bastrop.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Leslie Woodard; daughter, Dorothy Earline Black; son, Leslie Earl Woodard; son-in-law, Billy Gene Wood; granddaughter, Toni Black Smith; and great grandson, Kade McMilleon.
Survivors include her children, Fay Wood of Collinston, Sandra Bunch and husband, Billy H. of Bastrop, Johnny Woodard and wife, Glenda of Coy, AR, and Virginia White and husband, Roy D. of Crossett, AR; sisters, Audrey Lawson and Janet McGaha and husband, Joseph both of Houston, TX; brothers, Pete Aswell of Madisonville, TX and Homer Aswell of Dallas, TX; 15-grandchildren and 37-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Kyler McMilleon, Ricky "Bubba" Putman, Jacob Putman, Tristan Kester, Eric Black, and Keith Black. Honorary pallbearer is Jerry Kester.
