Dorothy (Dottie) Hibbeler was born to Ernest and Vera (Jordan) Stump on September 16, 1934 in Jacksonville, FL. Dottie spent her early childhood in Salina, KS until her family moved to Omaha in 1942. She graduated from Omaha South High in 1952. Shortly after graduating, Dottie began what would be a 40 year career at Mutual of Omaha. She held a variety of positions with the company, retiring in 1992.

Dottie married Henry Hibbeler in 1978 and they shared many happy years together until Henry's death in January of 2012.

Dottie loved people, traveling, animals and nature. Dottie was a woman of great faith, and often put that faith into action. She was an active member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Miriam Circle, took communion to home bound members, made baptismal banners, and could frequently be found cooking and serving in the church kitchen. At home she loved to feed and watch the birds and squirrels. Dottie enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and family near and far. She never missed an opportunity to send a card for a birthday or anniversary, and usually those cards contained a picture or a newspaper clipping or a coupon picked especially for that person. It was just one more way Dottie found to show her care and concern to others. She will be greatly missed.
