North East, Maryland | Age 68

Dorothy Lee Racine, age 68, of North East, MD, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017. Born April 9, 1949 in Elkton, MD, Dorothy was the daughter of the late James and Adeline (Ryan) Dowdell.

Family was the center of Dorothy's world. Everything she did revolved around her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was truly devoted to her family and would do anything for them. Dorothy raised her three boys and never once missed a baseball game. She enjoyed watching her sons and grandchildren play baseball and was undoubtedly their biggest fan. She also enjoyed watching the Orioles with her late husband and especially loved Cal Ripken, Jr. Dorothy taught for 25 years between Immaculate Conception and Gilpin Manor. Her passion for family and caring for others was evident in her career as a teacher as she would ensure that all her students were prepared and ready for school. She was known to help any child that needed anything. She was always supportive of charities such as the "Wounded Warrior Project", "SPCA", and the "Feed the Children", to name a few. Dorothy was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; she will be cherished and missed dearly.

Dorothy is survived by her three sons: Charles W. Racine, III and his wife, Nanette, James V. Racine and his wife, Lynn and Joseph A. Racine and his wife, Gina; eight grandchildren: Taylor, Charlie, Ashlee, Jimmy, Zac, Amber, Emma and Jacob; three great grandchildren: Cadence, Jaxon and Riley; and many loving siblings and extended families.
