Born April 1, 1924, she peacefully passed away March 12, 2017, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be Thursday, March 16th from 6 pm -8 pm, with funeral services on Friday March 17th at 12 noon both at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Davis, she is survived by children, Julie Maynard, Russell and Nancy Davis, Ken Maynard, grandchildren Brian and Amy Davis, Adrienne and Jack Morton, Charlie and Gillian Davis, Cameron Maynard, and great grandchildren, Cale and Ellie Davis, and countless extended family members. Dot was loved by all who knew her, including her church family and fellow realtors at Ebby Halliday, where she counted Ebby as one of her dear friends

Born in Little Rock Arkansas to James K. Polk and Alma Greenhill Hamilton, she moved to Dallas, Texas at the young age of 2. There she resided with her mom, sister, Mary Patterson, and Aunt Ike Hamilton. She graduated salutatorian of Adamson High School in 1941, winning a full scholarship to SMU because of her high GPA. Dot chose not to accept the scholarship as she knew the financial needs of her family and chose instead to go to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone. This turned out to be a wonderful decision as that is how she met the love of her life, Charlie Davis. Dot excelled at all she did, from managing her husband, Charlie’s, orthodontic practice, to Diamond Circle realtor at Ebby’s. But her greatest achievement was being a wonderful Christian wife, mother and grandmother to her family. In the words on hers and Charlie’s gravestone, “The Greatest Achievement Of Any Life Is To Do The Will Of God.”

Her family would like to thank the Monticello West assisted living group who took such wonderful care of Dot for the last years of her life. They loved Dot and went above and beyond to attend to her every need.
