Douglas passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.

Douglas was a resident of Salisbury, North Carolina at the time of her passing.

She educated in the city schools and graduated from Gaffney High School Gaffney SC. She attended Winthrop College Rock Hill SC. She graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte NC.

Miss Austell was a veteran of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps with the rank of Captain.

The Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday September 19 at Milford Hills Baptist in Salisbury NC. Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Blacksburg SC at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The family wishes to thank the staff of Fitzgerald Place of Arbor Acres and the Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County.
