Doug James, 72, passed away peacefully in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Doug was born on April 29th, 1944 to Kenneth and Frances (Bussell) James in Anderson, Indiana, the youngest of 6 children. He moved with his family to Phoenix at the age of 4. He went to Franklin & Kenilworth elementary schools and graduated from West High School in 1962. It was there he met the love of his life, Maureen Adair. They were married for over 54 years.
Doug accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Trinity Bible Church where he was a long time member.
Doug worked at Coulter Cadillac for 48 years until his retirement in 2010. However, he could not stay retired for long and went to work for Bell Honda as a courtesy driver. "Grampsy", as he was affectionately known, loved to spend time with his family and friends. He never missed an opportunity to attend events of all kinds supporting his children, grandkids, nieces and nephews. Doug was a "foodie" and enjoyed good meals with his family and friends.
Doug will be greatly missed by his wife Maureen, son Jim (Ruth), 6 grandkids, 3 great grandkids, 4 sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy and son Doug Jr.
