Mr Howie was born on July 30, 1929 and passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017.

Mr Howie was a resident of Massachusetts at the time of passing.

He was a graduate of The University of Massachusetts-Amherst where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi and Tau Beta Pi Honor Societies.

A United States Navy Veteran, he served aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Buckley (808) as a first class gun-fire control man.

Burial will be private.

Donations can be made in Doug's memory to St Jude's Children's Hospital and the LPA (Little People of America) both in care of the Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
