Duane S. "Dewey" Beatty, 54, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born February 17, 1961in Granite City, a son of Coleman V. "Cole Beatty of Granite City and the late Patricia C. "Pat" (Jones) Beatty. He worked for Sprint Wireless Lifestyle in Florissant, Missouri where he served as a store manager. He was a member of the Granite City Moose Lodge. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother, Curtis Beatty of Granite City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Allayna Carnahan of Granite City and Deanna and Barry Gurney of Granite City; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Cody, Cierra, Nathan, Dawson and DeLaynie; great niece, Angel; other extended family and many friends. In addition to his beloved mother, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Christopher. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. with Chaplain Greg Stafford officiating. Memorials may be made to the Beatty family and may be accepted at the funeral home.
