Earl was born on October 12, 1922 and passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017.

Earl was a resident of Frederick, Maryland at the time of passing.

Erik M. Bickle and wife, U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Nicole Scherer, both currently stationed in Yokosuka, Japan; two great-grandsons: Andrew and Landon Bickle, and their mother, Sarah C. Bickle of Mount Airy, Md.; a brother, Clark E. and wife, Phyllis, of Spruce Creek, Va.; and three sisters: Virginia Moore of Tyrone, and Zoe C. Westcott and Geraldine Gorman, both of Altoona.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Chaplin Lewis Button officiating. Committal with full military honors will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations in memory of Earl be made to a charity of one's choice.
