Eddie Elmer Hannifin
May 6, 1922 - March 25, 2015

Eddie Elmer Hannifin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25th at North End Ivy Place care center.

Eddie was born May 6, 1922 in Walla Walla, Washington while his mother was visiting her sister for the weekend. He was the son of Lawrence and Edena Hannifin. After attending catholic schools and growing up in Boise, he graduated from Boise High. Eddie attended college, but followed his dream and moved to Hawaii "to be a beach bum." Being a "beach bum" didn't last long, and Eddie enlisted with the US Navy, where he quickly moved up and soon became Commander. After fulfilling his service duties, his traveling days began. He worked for several retail companies and eventually became a salesman for Revlon Cosmetics. Following his stay at Revlon, he found a home with L'oreal of Paris, which was the job of a lifetime. During all of his travels he met and spent many years with the love of his life, Mary Athena Alexopoulos, and they were together for 47 years. They lived in several cities like Paris and Honolulu and then moved to Boise in 1985.

Eddie then helped to pioneer L'oreal hair products in the United States. Before retiring, Eddie received many achievements and awards with the company that he regarded as "a great French Company to work for." Eddie and Mary adopted a lost dog, Zeus, who gave them both many years of enjoyment while being retired in Boise. Eddie was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Lawrence and Edena Haniffin; little brother, "Frankie" Mike Hannifin; Mary Alexopoulos; and dog, Zeus.

He is survived by Mary's three daughters, Kiana Aston, Cindi McFarland, and Carole Pearlman. Many thanks to Journey Hospice, especially Linda Reyna and Misty Butts, and the North End Ivy Place, where Kim and her team took very good care of Eddie. A special shout out to Tim Harrigfeld, the Hannifin's "personal flower boy" and manager of Denver Wholesale Flowers.
