Edith Cobb, 95, died peacefully in her sleep on August 24, 2017, at Bethesda Memory Care with family by her side.

Edith was born on Sept. 24, 1921, in Olney, Texas. After winning the Miss Olney, Texas, contest at age 16, she married Howard and became the ultimate homemaker. She was adept at working her crossword puzzles, and religiously did her daily exercises into her 90’s.

She was friendly and considerate to all and loved by all. Friends and family always felt welcome and cared for in her home. She had a great sense of humor and her smile could light up a room.

Edith faithfully attended TCU football and basketball games and was a big fan of the Cowboys, especially Tony Romo.

All in all, she was the perfect Mom….except for the time she wouldn’t allow her 16 year old son to have a motorcycle.

The family is eternally grateful to the loving, compassionate staff at Bethesda. They helped make Mother’s later years a real joy for all of us. Thanks also to the Hospice staff for their care and companionship those last months.

She is predeceased by her parents, Brown and Arizona Hubbard; son, Terry Cobb; daughter, Kelly Cobb; and her husband of 50 years, Howard Cobb, a U.S Navy Veteran of World War II.

Edith is survived by her son, Lance Cobb and wife, Francie; grandson, Sean Cobb, and wife, Michele; great-granddaughters, Kylie and Sidney; granddaughter, Shalei Cobb; granddaughter, Teran Parris, and husband, Danne Lasko; step-grandson, John Carter, and wife, Maria; children, James, Avery and Dylan; step-grandson, Jason Carter, and wife, Lucia; children, Holden, Richard and Ruby.
