Edith Mae "Meme" Pollizzie was born on August 16, 1921 and went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2016 just 8-days shy of her 95th birthday. Edith was born in Freeport, TX and was the daughter of John Henderson Anderson and Florence Leona Adair. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58-years Joe Pollizzie, sister Lucille McConathy, brother Virgil Anderson, son J.R. "Bob" Pollizzie, and grandson Mark Gibbs.

For the majority of Edith's adult life she and Joe remained in the home they settled their family into in 1954. Edith spent her working years at the Credit Bureau of Greater Houston where she later retired. She went on to live many more years taking care of her family and home.

Edith is survived by her daughters Florence Gibbs and Diana Heffern and husband Dan Heffern; grandchildren Robert Pollizzie, John Gibbs and wife Kandi, Debra Pollizzie, Carrie Pollizzie, Rebecca "Sister Mary Kolbe" Heffern, and Melissa Heffern; great grandchildren Brandon Gibbs, Jordan Gibbs, Makenna Holford, Christian Gibbs, Destiny White, Christina Pollizzie, Cassie Pollizzie, Nicholas Barouch, Jacob Barouch, Jonathan Barouch, Christopher Mullins, and Ashley Mullins; numerous great great grandchildren; close family members Gene McConathy and sons Larry, Stephen and Kelly, Emmett Taylor and wife Mary Lou Taylor and children Lorna, Doyle and Jeffrey.

The family thanks all the Doctors and Nurses that worked to keep "Meme" as comfortable as possible in her last days.

Visitation with the family was held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, Texas. Interment followed at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, also in Houston.
