Edith was born on November 3, 1917 and passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017.

Edith was a resident of Advance, North Carolina at the time of passing.

Her love of history and genealogy was reflected in her contributions and published works over the years, such as serving on the Davie County Heritage Book committee, being the Advance correspondent for the Davie County Enterprise Record for nearly 60 years, serving as the historian of Advance United Methodist Church since 1979, compiling and publishing the Advance United Methodist Cemetery Book, and authoring Professional ledgers of John Edward Bell Shutt in 2000.
