Edward "Ed" Anthony Stockley, Sr., 87, of Brandon, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, January 1, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was especially proud of his family and is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alice, and their four children, Stephen (Brian), Edward, Jr. (Selina), Stacy, Alison (Richard), and two grandchildren, Kyra Krumins and Nicholas Stockley (and Nicholas' mother, Barbara).

He was born on July 3, 1930 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to Anthony Stockley and Blanche Rogers. He graduated from Pittsfield High School and worked in the commercial laundry industry until his retirement, and then as a funeral associate for Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home in Brandon for 18 years. He was a faithful and active member of Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church for more than 45 years, serving on the vestry, usher, and Sunday school committees. A vital part of his community, he volunteered countless hours as an Athletic and Band Booster at Brandon Senior High School where all of his children graduated, and was honored with the prestigious Mr. Eagle award in 1994. He often led events as an easy public speaker, known for his humor and wit. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, softball, and watching football.

He also leaves behind two siblings, Eleanor (Edwin) Kryznowek and William Rogers, as well as nieces, nephews, and their children who are left to remember and honor him. He was predeceased by one sibling, Irene Clark.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church in Valrico on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 am, with interment and reception immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church or the American Cancer Society.
