Edward L. 'Mickey' McMahon, 88 of Yankeetown, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012 in the loving care of his family. He was born in Binghamton, New York on Wednesday, July 18, 1923 to James Patrick and Flossie Helen (Lindley) McMahon. Mickey was a veteran of the United States Navy and served as a Petty Officer and was a retired, firefighter. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Binghamton, New York. Mickey moved from Binghamton, New York in 1972 to Yankeetown, Florida. He was a member of St. Anthony the Abbott in Inglis, Florida and enjoyed fishing, hunting and sailing.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-laws, Hugh Kirby and Bill Smith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Carole McMahon of Yankeetown, Florida; sons, Donald McMahon and wife Terri and Ronald McMahon and wife Karen, all of Binghamton, New York and Daniel Phomas of Inverness, Florida; daughters, Sharon Kirby of California, Cheryl Moore-Gantt and husband Eddie of Cartersville, Georgia, Deborah Smith of Hampton, Georgia, Susan Pelchat of Griffin, Georgia and Tammy O'Bry and husband Billy of Inglis, Florida; extended family, Perry Pelchat of Griffin, Georgia and George Buzby of New Port Richey, Florida and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service of Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:00 A.M., Fero Funeral Home, 5955 N. Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, Florida 34465.
