Edwin Hostetter, 98, who formerly resided in Ossian, IN passed away in his sleep Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his residence in Fort Wayne, IN. Edwin was a man of God, a loving husband, a fantastic father, and grandfather. He was a 50 year elder in his Presbyterian Church, a 65-year Master Mason, a 50-year Past Master, and a member of the Scottish Rite. He is survived by a sister, Mary Parker; his five children, James (Judi Ann), of Chattanooga, TN, Joan (John) Cleveland, of Carmel (formerly of New Castle), IN; Carolyn Franke, of Greenback, TN; Charles "Gene", of Brownsburg, IN; and Michael (Barbara), of Fort Wayne, IN; and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Nerine; five brothers and one sister; his son-in-law, Col. Bob Franke, ret.; and a grandson, James Dean Hostetter. Funeral service will be 10:30 am on Monday, July 18, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church - Ossian, 123 South Jefferson St., with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Visitation will also be from 5:30 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with a Masonic Service at 7:45 pm. The family requests memorials to First Presbyterian Church - Ossian or Southern Care Hospice. The family also wishes to acknowledge all the loving care provided in Edwin's last years by the people at Brookdale Fort Wayne and in his final months by the people with Southern Care Hospice.
