EDYTHE M. GORDON, 91, of Florence, KY, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Villaspring Long-term Care, Erlanger, Ky. Born In Kosciusko County, IN, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Grace Lentz. She retired from McKesson in Fort Wayne as a bookkeeper.

She was a 67 year member of the Fort Wayne Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron twice with her husband Clifford as Worthy Patron. She served the Indiana Grand Chapter as District Deputy in 1979, Grand Esther in 1985, and as Worthy Grand Matron over the State of Indiana in 1989. She was also a 35-year member of Teti Sheri Temple No. 60, Daughters of the Nile. She served as Lady of the Keys in 1983 and as Queen in 1987. She was subsequently awarded a life membership in the organization.

She is survived by sons, Dennis (Patricia) Gordon of Union, KY and Roger (Trish) Gordon of Stokesdale, NC; grandsons, Timothy (Katie) Gordon of Durham, NC, Brian (Courtney) Gordon of Carolina Beach, NC, and Michael (Ashlyn) Gordon of Oak Ridge, NC; and granddaughter, Ashley (Dan) Poe of Summerfield, NC; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clifford, and an infant son, Thomas, both formerly of Fort Wayne. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph (Val) Lentz and Henry (Sally) Lentz; and a sister, Lunetta (Bill) Metcalf.

Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation also from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017, at the funeral home, with Daughters of the Nile service at 7 p.m. and Eastern Star service to follow. Burial at Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco. Preferred memorials to Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 West Berry Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
