Eileen Curry, 87, died on November 10, 2017. Born to Irish immigrants in Paterson, NJ she was raised in Greensboro, where she lived the remainder of her life. Ms. Curry was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Hazle Curry. She is survived by sisters, Connie Curry of Atlanta and Ann Curry (Enoch Hendry) of Savannah, and nephews, Walker and Coran Hendry. She is also survived by a myriad of Irish and Canadian cousins.

An avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan, Eileen once resigned from a job in order to attend the 1955 World Series against the New York Yankees. (The Dodgers won.) In her twenties Eileen modeled professionally in New York City and lived for a time in Paris, with her sister Connie.

Eileen joined First Presbyterian Church in 1943 and was an active member of the Bethany Circle. She also attended Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. Eileen was a member of Women Improving Race Relations, sponsored by the Greensboro Commission on the Status of Women. She enjoyed Saturday mornings at the Greensboro Farmer's Market. Eileen was a seasoned traveler, a cat lover and a vivacious conversationalist.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday December 4th in the Memorial Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, 617 N. Elm Street in Greensboro, the Reverend Lori Carter and the Reverend David Partington presiding. The family asks that remembrances be made to the Sadye Bowles Fund at First Presbyterian Church.
