Eileen Marie Nickel, 89, of Wever, IA, passed away at 3:30 AM on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
She was born on December 10, 1926 in Burlington, IA to Mark and Anna Brun Davison. Eileen married Merwyn Marsh on August 14, 1945 in Ft. Madison and he passed away on October 11, 1952. On May 14, 1955 she married Robert Daugherty in Denmark, IA and he passed away on May 19, 1978. She then married Earl "Soney" Nickel on January 4, 1994 in Denmark nd he passed away on October 31, 2013. Eileen was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a graduate of Denmark Academy High School and a member of Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy (Leroy) Mabeus and Sherry (Ray) McKee both of Wever; a son, Bob (Janice) Daugherty of Dallas City, IL; nineteen grandchildren and great grandchildren; step children, Paula (Robert) Tripp of Ames, Susan Nickel of Van Nuys, CA and Scott Nickel of Wever. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and a son, Steve Daugherty.
The family will meet with friends from Noon until 2 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Chad Savage officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Denmark UCC, Denmark Fire and Rescue or Wever Fire and Rescue. Online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com
