Ela Gladys Cobbs Greenwood went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, September 23, 2017. Gladys was born on December 9, 1922 to Henry Thomas and Eunice Sistrunk Cobbs. She married Rubyl Francis Greenwood on November 3, 1945, in Houston, Texas where she resided until her death. She served in the Army Air Force from September, 1944 until November, 1945. Gladys loved fishing, sewing and was a wonderful southern cook, who took great pride in her chicken and dumplings. She greatly enjoyed time at their Lake Houston cabin, fishing, skiing and active in the North Shore civic club, acting as treasurer and actively involved in the planning of the annual fish fry and auction. Her famous coconut cake always auctioned for no less than $100. She was employed by the Veterans Administration until they adopted their son Danny in 1957. She later acquired her real estate license which she maintained into her eighties. She is survived by her son Danny, daughter-in-law, Linda, grandchildren, Marlaina Berry, Chad Greenwood, Corey Greenwood and great grandchildren, Nicholas, Cody, Avery and Penelope, as well as nieces and nephews who were all special to her. She was preceded in death by her husband Rubyl, her parents and sisters, Reta, O'Neta, Margaret, Myrtle, Doris and brother Bill.
