Elbert was born on September 24, 1922 and passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

Elbert was a resident of Nolan, Texas at the time of passing.

Elbert graduated from Newman High School in 1941 and was on the first Mustang Football Team to play in the bowl.

He was a farmer and rancher and retired from Lone Star Cement Company as a shipping clerk, had lived in Nolan County most of his life, was a U.S Army Veteran serving during WW II and was a member of Nolan United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Reverend Richard Petree officiating. Interment will follow at Slater's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Elbert was a member of Hylton Masonic Lodge # 884 and received his 70 Year Certificate and Pin in 2017, was a York Rite Mason, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and was a past member of Mamie D. Crane # 1018 Order of the Eastern Star.
