Eleanor Boysen, age 92, of Alexandria, MN, passed away on June 19, 2017 at her daughter's home. Eleanor Boysen was born in Chicago, IL on September 14, 1924 and married Orville Boysen on July 8, 1944. They were married 52 years. Orville and Eleanor farmed in Havelock, Iowa for 22 years, and then moved to Alexandria, MN where they owned and operated the Deer Park for 25 years. Eleanor worked as a cook for the Douglas County jail, and in her retirement worked at Walmart as a door greeter. She also volunteered for meals on wheels, foster grandparents, and Bingo. Eleanor is survived by her and Orville's three daughters, Paula (Mike) Newton, Nancian Roelofs, and Lynn Boysen (Tim Fitzgerald), grandchildren, Stacey Mitchell, Kelly Genduso, Michael Roelofs, Misti Roelofs, and Ryan Fitzgerald and seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Orville Boysen, her mother and father, and her two brothers. Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
