Eleanor J. (Bielak) Stanton, 88, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2015, peacefully at her home.

Born on September 6, 1927, in Medina, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Martha (Gurzynski) Bielak.

Eleanor graduated from Medina High School in 1945 and in 1948 married the late John Stanton Jr. who passed away in 1995. She worked as a secretary at the former R.H. Newell &Co. of Medina and F.M.C. of Middleport and as a Transcriptionist at Medina Memorial Hospital and for many years as an Election Inspector. After her retirement, she joined the TWIGS at the hospital and volunteered at their gift shop. She was a former active member of the Sacred Heart Parish; she helped with the American Red Cross Blood Drives and was a active member of the Senior Citizen of Western NY. She and John spent many winters in Englewood, FL and she enjoyed playing cards, reading, knitting & crocheting and she loved her family very much.

She is survived by a son, Greg (Barbara) Stanton, grandchildren, Matthew Stanton, Sarah (Jeremy) Bensley, great-grandchildren, Veronika McClary, Brielle and Kellan Bensley, all of Medina, a son-in-law, Peter Jones of Kendall, NY, a sister, Helen (Paul) Splain of Averill Park, NY; two brothers, Donald Bielak of Rochester, Tony (Debbie) Bielak of Lockport and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her husband, she is predeceased by a daughter, born in 1951, a son, David "Pickles" in 1987, a daughter, Michelle in 2013 and a sister, Dorothy Kaiser Kujawa in 2012.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, December 18, 2015, from 4 PM- 8 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina with a Memorial Mass being celebrated on Saturday, 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary's Church, West Ave. Medina, with the Pastor, Rev. Daniel J. Fawls celebrating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
