ALEXANDER, Elizabeth Ann (nee Goff)- died on Sunday, January 7, 2018, age 92. She was the beloved wife of Lee Carnot Alexander, who survives her, as do four adoring children, Olivia, Neal, Paul and Cecily, and a dear grandson, Alex Morrelli. After graduating from Monticello College in St. Louis, Missouri (A.A. Fine Arts), she went to the (then) famous John Robert Powers Modeling Agency and Mr. Powers made her an offer on sight. But Ann decided that modeling was not a life for her, and enrolled at Fairleigh Dickinson. Later in New York City, she worked for a gifted interior decorator, Mr. Taffey (taf-fay). In 1949, age 23, she married Lee Alexander, a mechanical engineer (Purdue Univ.). Civilian life was interrupted by the Korean War, as Lee was stationed in Quantico, Virginia as an officer in the Marine Corp (1951-52). The couple moved to Oyster Bay in 1954. Ann was devoted to the Whaling Museum in Cold Spring Harbor, where she volunteered for 15 years. She revered the heroism of police and especially, fire fighters, never failing to contribute to their causes. "Mignonne, allons voir si la rose." - Pierre de Ronsard 1552. Reposing at Beney Funeral Home, 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset, NY 11791. Visitation Wednesday, 7-9 PM. Funeral Service 11 AM in Chapel at Memorial Cemetery, Cold Spring Harbor, NY.
