Elizabeth H. Blevins, 85, of Lexington passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Elizabeth was born on March 31, 1928 in Fayette County, KY to Everett and Kate (Turley) Hopkins of Bourbon County. She resided in Lexington, KY with her husband of 64 years, John D. Blevins. She was a 1944 graduate of North Middletown High School and attended Centre College. Elizabeth retired after 20 years of service from the University of Kentucky where she worked as an Executive Assistant. Elizabeth was a faithful member of First Christian Church where she enjoyed fellowship with her church family. Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her family: husband John Blevins, her two children Roxana Blevins and Jill Wells. Nanny is survived by her grandchildren, Elly Cain (Ryan), Emily Dyer (Travis), Daniel-Taylor Wells (Becca), and Enelio Moreno (Sarah). Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son-in-law, William D. Wells. Elizabeth was surrounded by dear friends and family who were blessed to know her. Elizabeth loved to spend her time with family and friends, playing on her computer, winning at card games, and traveling to different states including Hawaii and Alaska. Her memorial service will begin at 2:00pm on January 8, 2014at First Christian Church, 1305 Audubon Ave., Lexington, KY. There will be no visitation prior to or after the service. The family has asked that memorial contributions be sent to the First Christian Church Senior Adult Program or the Hambrick Sunday School Class C/O of Faith Baptist Church, 116 Pocahontas Trail, Georgetown, KY. We will continue to remember Elizabeth's life through our laughter and love.
