Elizabeth Walburn Howton, 89, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed
away on January 7, 2017. Betty, as she was known by all
who knew her, will rejoin her loving husband Roy, who preceded
her in death in 2009 after 60 years of marriage. Born in Bessemer,
Alabama, Betty attended college in pursuit of a Fine Arts Degree.
She married Roy in 1949 and became a full-time homemaker.
While moving around the country due toRoy's work as an
FBI agent, Betty raised three loving children. In addition, Betty was
an accomplished artist from an early age. Mastering the challenge
of working in various mediums, Betty painted beautiful flowers
in watercolor and landscapes in oil. In addition, Betty was a
great cook, especially famous for her chocolate sauce, cheese
straws and her pasties (meat pies). Betty enjoyed
traveling, with her most recent trip being a tour of the Kentucky
Bourbon Trail in 2015. Betty is survived by her three children,
Roy Howton Jr. and wife (Amy), Richard Howton and Jane
Martin and husband(Peter), by her four grandchildren, James
Martin and wife (Mary), Eric Martin, Kyra Whitton and husband (Steve),
and David Howton and wife (Katie), and three great grandchildren,
Endelyn Whitton, Ferelith Whitton and Tegwen Whitton, and her faithful
dog, Mattie. A service to celebrate Betty's life will be
held on January 13th at 2:00 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
