Elizabeth (Bette) Jean Watson King age 70, passed away peacefully with family by her bedside on May 31, 2017 at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford Florida.



Bette was born on August 25, 1946 to Harrison Watson and Myrtice Lawrence in Pensacola, Florida.



Bette married David Allen King on November 13, 1965 in Glouster, New Jersey. Together they had three children, Elizabeth Mae Glass of Jefferson City, Tennessee; David Allen King Jr. of Killeen, Texas (deceased) and Shane Scott King of Meriden, North Carolina. They also had three foster children: Jeannette Mannering; Marquax Mannering; and Cora Anne McNeese.



She is survived by her husband of 51 years, David Allen King; Grandsons Justin Ray Glass of Orlando, Florida, Randy Charles Glass of Meriden, North Carolina; Dain Allen Glass of Jefferson City, Tennessee and David Allen King III of Port Orange, Florida; Vincent James Waite of Cocoa Beach, Florida. Great-granddaughters; Brihanna Glass of Sanford, Florida and Candice Waite of Cocoa Beach, Florida.



She is also survived by her sisters Joyce Lorello of Kissimmee, Florida, Shirley Wittler of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Gloria Crawford (deceased); brother Harrison Watson of Kissimmee, Florida as well as several nieces and nephews.



Bette spent 30 years in the education system working with special needs children. She was instrumental in running toy drives and food drives as needed for those in need within the community. She was a beloved teacher, advisor, counselor, friend, Mother, sister and wife.



Bette dedicated her life to helping others to better theirs. This world has lost one of its greatest champions for children’s rights in the education system as well as an advocate for all children. She gave selflessly of herself. Not only to her family but, anyone who asked her for help.
