ELLA JACKSON JONES COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LA. Deaconess Ella Jackson Jones was born November 29, 1932 in Galion, Louisiana to the late Mageline and Burrell Jackson, who preceded her in death. She was also, preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, and one grandson. Mother Ella Jackson Jones entered into eternal rest on June 18, 2017 at the home of her daughter. Funeral services for Mother Ella Jackson Jones will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2016 at the Morehouse Association Building on the Collinston Road in Bastrop, Louisiana. Committal services and interment will follow at H.V. Adams Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 22nd, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Ms. Jones confessed Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W.C. Harrison and Rev. R.L. Jenkins where she was a faithful member and Deaconess until her demise. Ella B. always gave unconditional love to her husband, Jessie as well as to her family. She was dearly loved by her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews for the funny sense of humor she exhibited. She developed a special relationship with lives of those she touched. She attended school at Galion Elementary in Galion, Louisiana. She worked for Ditto Apparel for numerous years, owned and operated the 'Pit Stop" restaurant for several years, and also worked for Dr. Benjamin Stage and spouse for numerous years. She married Deacon Jessie Jones, Jr. on December 16, 1948, to this union, one daughter and seven sons. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband of seventy years, Jessie Jones, Jr., Bastrop, Louisiana; one daughter, Ella Tippit (Albert) of Bastrop, Louisiana; eight sons, Robert Jones (Sherri) of Monroe, Louisiana, Rickey Jones (Georgia), Everett Jones, Lewis Jones (Linda), Alvin Jones, Lee Jones (Earline), Jessie L. Jones (Wilma) all of Bastrop, Louisiana, Elbert Jackson (Janice) of Gary, Indiana; thee sisters, Artie Jackson, Lula Harden both of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Leila Johnson, Monroe, Louisiana; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, three special granddaughters, Ashley Tippit, Jessica Jones, and Jayda Jones; one special daughter-in-law, Rosa Jones, two special cousins, Richard Williams and Patricia Robinson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
