Elsie Marie Paladino, 89, passed away peacefully Thursday May 25, 2017. Elsie was born to Essie A Hassell & J. Howell Conner on June 10, 1927 in Neches TX and grew up in Palestine. She met and married John Paladino in 1946 and they were happily married for 63 years until his passing in 2009.
Elsie and John moved to the Brazosport area in 1951 where they resided the rest of their lives. Elsie worked for several years as a dental assistant for Dr. Phillip Crow. After this she went to work for the Brazosport College when it first opened and worked there until her retirement. She was a lifelong and active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a Worthy Grand Matron of the State of Texas from 1985 to 1986. She was very active in the organization and traveled extensively across the state, meeting and making friends everywhere she went. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile. In addition, she volunteered with the Pink Ladies Organization.
She is survived by her sons; John Philip Paladino Jr. (wife Jennifer), Michael L. Paladino (wife Valorie), and Edward Paladino. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Mark, Matt, and Jay; her great grandchildren Mackenzie, Macy, Kennedy, Mason, and Molly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Lois and brother J.B.
She was a very caring and loving wife and mother. She was a shining example of love, strength, and faith to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
The family would like to express a special thanks to all the staff at Carriage Inn in Lake Jackson, and the A-MED Hospice nurses that took such good care of Elsie in her final days.
Visitation will be at Restwood Funeral Home on Tuesday May 30, 2017 from 10:00am to 11:00am, with the Funeral Service following at 11:00am.
