Emma McDaniel Frazier, age 99, left this life on May 19, 2017. She was born in Orange County, Va. on December 31, 1917, to Hiram T. and Alice Pettit McDaniel.



She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raymond Frazier; five brothers, Floyd, Newman, William, Frank, and Harry; two sisters, Martha Brown and Mamie Hall; two grandchildren, Rodney Fitzhugh and Robin Hicks Tomlin; and three sons-in-law, Jeffrey Garrison, Rocky Fitzhugh, and Michael Hicks.



Her survivors are her four daughters: Thelma Garrison of Albemarle with whom she lived the past five years, Virginia Fitzhugh of Orange, Irene Hicks of Fluvanna, and Glory Nash (Phillip) of Greene. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Calvin Garrison, George Michael Garrison, Donna Garrison Carpenter, Deborah Mahanes Campbell, Ronda Nash Bryan, Hayley Nash Graham, Amy Hicks Heinrich, Cynthia Hick Wolford, and Jennifer Fitzhugh Faulconer; 19 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.



She was a nurse's aide for many years working at the Riverdale Adult Home and later at the Cedars Nursing Home. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.



She enjoyed working on antique clocks and gardening until she was 92 years old, and she will be missed by all.



A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville.
