Emma was born on December 9, 1939 and passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017.

Emma was a resident of Oklahoma at the time of passing.

She received her Master of Arts Degree from Cal State in Long Beach, California and was a Professor of English as a Second Language at Long Beach City College in Long Beach, California.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning September 14, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel of Konawa, Oklahoma. Chaplin Dude Youngblood will officiate and burial will follow at Little Cemetery, north of Seminole, Oklahoma. Viewing will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Janice was born December 9, 1939 in Konawa to Robert Alvin Mills and Mary Emma (Brinlee) Mills.
