Erma Dean Black, "Deannie", of Del City, OK passed away January 2, 2018 at the age of 85 in Midwest City, OK. She was Born Feb. 21, 1932 in California, Missouri to Virgil C. Remley and Olga F. (Ziehmer) Remley.
Deannie was a longtime accounting employee for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and she chose to retire in Del City after a long tenure.
She loved collecting Raggedy Ann dolls, antique dolls, figurines, and many other types of antiques. She also enjoyed gardening and raising flowers of all kinds. Deannie was an avid dog lover and rescued many dogs over the years.
Deannie is survived by her children Robert Wayne Thornton of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; Jody Ray Black and his wife Angela of Katy, Texas; Belinda Sue Thornton of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Derek, David, and Ashley; 2 brothers, Orbin Hayse Remley of Commanche, OK and Ronny Remley of Jefferson City, MO; and a number of nieces and nephews who were close to her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; a brother, Robert "Bobbie" Remley; and a sister, Patty Ann Remley. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 6, 2018 at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Please consider the option to make a donation to the Animal Rescue or Pet Adoption Agency of your choice in Deannie's name in lieu of flowers.
