Esther Davila Rodriquez, 83, entered the Gates of Heaven on March 9, 2017. Esther was born October 26, 1933 to Daniel and Josephine Davila (Gonzalez) in Abilene, Texas. She married the love of her life Rufus Rodriquez Jr., on January 24, 1967 in Roby, Texas and had 44 years of marriage before his passing in 2011. Esther's love for Rufus was strong and everlasting. They were each other's heartbeats. They complemented each other's souls, always together as one. Esther was a Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her world was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Esther was a Beautiful person; her Love was Radiant. Always generous and kindhearted; a heart made of gold. She embodied resiliency and was a true example of a person who always kept fighting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Marissa, Amber and Bryan. In her free time, she enjoyed music, traveling, gardening, cooking and sewing. Esther is preceded by her parents, husband Rufus Rodriquez Jr., and brothers; Joe Davila, Bernie Davila, and Andrew Davila. Left to cherish her memories are her sons; Alfred Portillo Jr., Abilene, Robert Portillo, Abilene, John Portillo (Beth), Arlington, daughter Rebecca Portillo Stokes, Abilene, brothers; Pete Davila (Ruth), Abilene, Albert Davila, Houston, Juan Manuel Davila, Abilene, sister; Ruth Chavana, Abilene, Erma Davila Mendoza, Ft. Worth, Martha Ledesma, Austin, grandchildren; Marissa Huerta (Rudy), Abilene, Amber Gamarra (Daniel), Miami, Bryan Alaniz, Abilene, John Portillo (Angel), Arlington, Suzanne Leftwich (Rocky), Arlington, great grandchildren; Angelo and Arabella Huerta, Malena and Kaden Portillo, Alexis and Nathan Leftwich.
