In Salt Lake City, UT, on October 10, 2017, Eunice Harmon Knecht exited Act 2, Stage Right and entered Act 3, Stage Left. Born August 23, 1929 in Price, Utah to Wanda Boyack and Wilford Glenn Harmon, the family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area when she was 3, settling in Berkeley. Eunice graduated from Brigham Young University in 1951 with a degree in Fine Arts, having majored in Speech, Radio and English. She was married to William Lee Knecht, and they had 5 children. The marriage was dissolved in 1968. Eunice raised her family in Walnut Creek, CA, but moved to SLC in 2010, and has enjoyed renewing long-standing friendships and making new ones.

With a life-long love of theatre, she enjoyed going to professional stage productions and "treading the boards" herself through school and church activities. She claims to have an honorary

Ph.D. in See's candy, she kept her brain dusted by watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and in an effort not to grow up, relived the big band days whenever possible. Eeyore, known from Winnie the Pooh, is her alter ego.

Appreciating the humor and pathos of clowns, she had a charming collection of clown figurines and pictures, and over many years she knit Christmas socks for family and friends, now well over 200. Proud of her pioneer heritage, she also enjoyed different positions in Daughters of Utah Pioneers in California and Utah.

She has a firm testimony of the LDS Church, and served in many capacities, including receptionist in the Oakland Temple. She wants no mourning, just to be remembered with affection and the knowledge that she is delighted to catch up with other family members and many friends, rejoicing in being together again.

Her parents, sister and brother and their spouses, Merrilyn H. Everett (Albert), and W. Glenn Harmon Jr. (Beryl) predeceased her. She is survived by sister, Julia Harmon Gailey (Varr); brother, George Boyack Harmon (Carla); and children, Beth K. Thomas (Brian), William Harmon (Angie), David (Florence), Richard (Kathy), and John (Cina) along with the combined total of 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday, October 16, 2017, 11:00 am at the Forestview Ward, 1111 East Charlton Ave (2818 South), SLC, with visitations at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Sunday evening 6 - 8 pm and at the church Monday morning 9:30 - 10:30 am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Missionary Fund in your local ward.
