Eunice Rachel Cranford Lane was called into heaven on Friday, July 28, 2017.

Born in Mississippi on February 18, 1941, to parents Reverend Jack Judson Cranford and Eunice (Knight) Cranford, she spent most of her early years in Oxford, Mississippi. From there, her life brought her to the New Orleans area all the while raising her new family while working on her graduate degree. Once the boys were older, her new career brought her to the Austin, Texas area working as a consultant for IBM. Following retirement, she chose to stay in the Austin, Texas area until her recent death.

Surviving family members include two sons, Jason Lane of Plano, Texas and wife Michelle Lane; Adam Lane and his wife Amy L'Etoile Lane of Buda, Texas; two grandchildren, Lucas Earl Lane and Grace Ellen Lane.
She received her undergraduate degree at Mississippi College and obtained her PHD in Education from the University of New Orleans.

In life, her personal passions and enjoyments included playing professional piano for many jazz musicians in the New Orleans area. She also enjoyed traveling the world and cooking southern cuisine.

Eunice Rachel Cranford Lane had a wonderful heart and leaves a long lasting legacy. She will be missed.
