Eva Fay Durst, 91, of Charleston, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 23, 2016.



She was born on Feb. 9, 1925 in Winifrede, WV a daughter of the late Frank and Leona Gobel Shrewsbury. She was active in the Ladies Aux. United Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting and cake decorating. In addition to collecting dolls, she made them. Eva loved music and taught herself to play piano, accordion, and guitar.



She is survived by her two sons, W.G. Durst, Jr., and his wife, Alma, of Mt. Healthy, Ohio and Thomas L. Durst of Nitro, WV; one daughter, Gail Hartman of Cross Lanes, WV; former son-in-law and friend, Ken Hartman; ten grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a large, loving extended family.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William G. Durst, Sr.; infant daughter, Sandra; one brother, Don Shrewsbury; and two sisters, Arbutus Conley and Reba Stewart.



Services will be held on Monday, Sept. 26 at 2:00pm at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes. Interment will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm prior to the service.
