Eva Mae Carte 87, died June 23 of 2015 at Spring Meadows Health Care Center in Clarksville TN after a short illness. She was born May 29, 1928, in Charleston West Virginia, the daughter of Archie and Pattie Jane Woodall. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Daniel Alex Carte and brother, William Woodall. She was a volunteer at Smith-Trahern Mansion. Eva Mae retired from bookkeeping after many years with the Kanawha and Berry Hills Country Clubs in Charleston. After retirement she made Florida her home until her husband’s death. She moved to Clarksville to be close to her daughter. She was a member of Excell Baptist Church, where she enjoyed her Sunday School class and the Excell's Seniors outings.



“Survivors include her daughter Karen (Ricardo) Gallegos; son, Michael Carte; sisters, Catherine (Glenn) Fowlkes and Linda Woodall Coe. Grandchildren, Kimberlie (Adnaan) Rowshan, Shelley Anderson, Brittney (Lee) Edwards, Jeremy (Amy) Carte, Matthew Carte, and 9 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.



Eva Mae will be returned to West Virginia where her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27 at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home, 513 Tennessee Ave, Charleston, WV 25302, with Rev. Archie Snedegar officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Friday at the Funeral Home.
